#BlackCoffeeMatters
It's been years since I set foot in a Starbucks. I have a Starbucks gift card kicking around in my wallet that I can't bring myself to actually use. So I'm not the hipster coffee chain's biggest fan.
But any business has the right to ask you to buy or leave.
The latest hysterical outburst of black fragility took place when two black men sitting at a table at a Starbucks refused to do either one.
They asked to use the bathroom. They were told it's for customers only. They sat at a table and claimed that they were waiting for a friend. And they refused to leave.
So the police were called.
Black fragility and racial hysteria led to lynch mobs descending on Starbucks. The manager who called the police has been purged. And Starbucks is forcing racism training on its employees.
Did the manager treat the two black men differently because of their race? We have no idea.
But black fragility demands that we affirm the claim. And so anyone accused of racism is treated as guilty. And can never be proven innocent.
The simple fact though is that any store has the right to ask you to leave. Especially if you're not buying anything. Your race doesn't entitle you to immunity from being asked to leave.
