New York City's insane left-wing government may have legalized public urination, but don't get the idea that it's too liberal. It does focus on the really important issues. Like banning baseball players from chewing tobacco.
Mayor de Blasio said he will “definitely” sign a ban on smokeless tobacco at sports arenas like Yankee Stadium and Citi Field in the next two weeks.
“It’s very important for the health of our players, and for the city as a whole,” de Blasio said on ESPN Sunday. “Young people look up to baseball players, and they look up to all athletes, and we want to protect everyone’s health.”
The baseball players are adults. So I'm pretty sure they can make informed chewing tobacco decisions. Also I haven't heard of a rash of young people chewing tobacco.

Yes, it's a wake up call that in a city with a 20% rise in stabbings, Bill de Blasio has focused on fighting on a non-existent problem.
With Opening Day approaching, New York is set to become the fourth city to ban the substance from its ballparks, following Boston, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. The legislation was passed last week by the City Council.
“We don’t want young people seeing the players they look up to engaging in something that’s bad for their bodies. We don’t want young people thinking that’s cool to do,” de Blasio told ESPN.
This is the same city in which pot has basically been decriminalized. Because that's how much Bill de Blasio cares about "young people". But there's no consistency here. Just virtue signaling. Pot is good. Tobacco is bad. Why? It's a matter of attitudes.
