Pro-crime policies really do work. You free criminals, cripple police and decriminalize quality of life policing and you get crime. It might take a little longer to show up in some places than others. But there will be sudden bursts of ugly activity in places that once seemed safe.
Because pro-crime policies work.
A shocking new report has revealed that a number of major crimes, including murders and rapes, have increased specifically within city parks even as it declines overall in New York City.
The number of murders, rapes, robberies and assaults went up 23% in the nine months through March, in comparison to the same period the year before, according to a report just released by a park watchdog group.
“More than a person a day is the victim of a violent crime in a city park,” Geoffrey Croft, founder of NYC Park Advocates – which performed the analysis using data provided by the New York Police Department – disclosed to the Wall Street Journal. “It’s a bad omen. It shows a lack of priority in dealing with this.”
Don't worry. The city and whatever hack is willing to take Bratton's old job will massage the numbers some more. Crime will continue "going down" because it will be underreported and undercharged. Except in places where it can't be and then there will be sudden spikes that will have to be statistically massaged for a bit until the public stops paying attention. And then once the real crime wave hits the public will wonder where it came from.
