This is why talk of reform in the Muslim world will continue going nowhere. This is an ideology incapable of any serious self-examination and which will always blame someone else for its own actions.
Bangladesh Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan suggested on Monday that there is an "international conspiracy" behind the recent killings of secular bloggers and minorities in the country orchestrated by the Israeli government, which has claimed the lives of dozens of people.
According to the BBC, Khan claimed that Israeli intelligence has been colluding with the Bangladeshi opposition to carry out the killings. He failed to provide any evidence for his allegations.
These are killings in which members of Islamist groups brutally hack secular and atheist bloggers to death with machetes. In public. So clearly Israel and the opposition are doing it.
Touhidur Rahman was arrested along with two other men by Bangladeshi security forces on Tuesday in connection with the beheading of prominent atheist bloggers Avijit Roy and Ananta Bijoy Das in separate attacks, according to ITV News.
The Rapid Action Battalion said 58-year-old Mr Rahman and two other members of the Ansarullah Bangla Team - an Islamist group which was banned in May - were the “main planners” of the attack on US-born Avijit Roy, who was hacked to death in Dhaka in February.
But Khan is really great at blaming Islamic violence on everyone else.
In May, Khan described the murder of the chief Buddhist monk at his monastery as a "stray incident," and blamed his relatives for the killing.
“You must have noticed that an Israeli intelligence agent had a meeting with a politician, it does not need to be verified further, all Bangladeshi know about it,” he added.
Well there you go.
