Sure, why not?
Hillary Clinton said in an interview with Massachusetts attorney general Maura Healey on Friday that if she could be CEO of any company right now, she'd choose Facebook, the Washington Post reports.
Why it matters: Facebook has had a tough few months, as it dealt with a serious data privacy scandal. But Clinton said she's drawn to the company because it's "the biggest news platform in the world. ...I, for one, hope they get it right, because it really is critical to our democracy that people get accurate information on which to make decisions."
Two politicians talking about how they'd love to get control of the biggest news platform in the world to influence how people make decisions? Nothing creepy about that,
But that's coming from the woman who claimed that she couldn't handle two emails accounts and needed everything printed out for her.
It could still happen. Just not with Hillary.
Facebook is too tempting a target for exactly the reason Hillary laid out. And it's been the target of the media complex and EU governments for that reason. Facebook is at the heart of the Russia conspiracy theory. It's also the media's income lifeline.
So at some point, Zuckerberg will go the way of Uber's Travis. Arianna Huffington will get a seat on the board and the opportunity to continue reenacting her original part in the Dune movie. The actual face up front won't be Hillary though. She might get a seat on the board.
The CEO will probably be Marissa Mayer. The leverage will be a campaign against sexual harassment or gender inequality at Facebook.
