Teachers' unions always hide behind the kids. If they want more money, it's for the kids. If they're protesting, it's for the kids. If they're refusing to come to work, it's for the kids.
If they're protecting abusive teachers, it's for the kids.
It's the latest Project Veritas scoop which captures Hamilton Township Education Association President David R. Perry doing what teachers' unions do best.
Perry seems to have a perverse genius for generating incredible quotes in his conversation with a Veritas journalist whom he thinks is there to get help for an abusive teacher.
There's the money quote. "I need to know the truth to bend the truth." But there are also plenty of others.Like, "I, would never hurt a union member". Or a statement that a tenured teacher would have to do something truly horrific to get fired.
"If [the teacher] actually said…'I'll kill you,' or ‘I'll beat the shit out of you' or ‘I'll hurt you' or ‘I'll hurt your family,' we don't say that. It's a mistake. It was out of the emotions. We don't even log that in…I need to know the truth so that we can bend the truth."pic.twitter.com/dspzz4VJec

But I'm sure parents will be thrilled to know that there's a system for protecting abusive teachers, sexually abusive teachers and teachers who are on drugs. For the kids.
