Hillary Clinton can't stop talking about the 2016 election because it's all she has. There's no future. Not for Chelsea. Not for Bill or Hillary. There's still all sorts of ways that they can mine cash from their foreign connections, from the DNC, but there's no future. Exploiting the past is the final act of a political career.
So there's no reason for Hillary to shut up. All she can do is live in the past.
But her presence wouldn't be as damaging if the Dems also weren't obsessed with litigating the election.
It's not just Hillary. The Mueller coup and the barrage of Russia conspiracy stories are the fruits of the same poisonous tree. It's not that Hillary Clinton is making a forward looking party look bad. It's that Hillary's poor messaging skills make it obvious that her movement's obsession with the 2016 election is a selfish sickness. And that's why the Dems would like her gone.
The Russian conspiracy theories look much better if the Dems can argue that Trump shouldn't have defeated a qualified and talented candidate. But then every time Hillary comes out on stage, she reminds everyone of why she lost.
