Elizabeth Warren Would Rather Talk About Pocahontas Than Fauxcahontas

"Let's talk about Pocahontas", was Elizabeth Warren's big line.

When politicians want to talk about something that isn't the issue, it's usually because they don't want to talk about something that is the issue.

Senator Warren wanted to talk about grievances surrounding Pocahontas, not about her own appropriation of a Cherokee identity. Warren spent more time talking about Trump than about the scandal that her rant was meant to deflect from.

Her only two real references were to claim that she received no benefit from falsely claiming to be Cherokee, but considering her academic listing as a minority, that's unlikely. As if her defense that she wanted to be listed as a minority to meet other minorities.

The other way to claim that her parents are "real people" and launch into a typical politician's "moving" story about them. That's nice, but the story doesn't address her own false claims of Cherokee ancestry.

Like everything else about her speech, it was an evasion.

Elizabeth Warren's fans want her to be the anti-Hillary. But her Pocahontas speech instead showed that she is Hillary.
