tudents for Justice in Palestine continues to stay true to its progressive values. Canary Mission showcases this explosion of progressive ideas from the National Students for Justice in Palestine conference at the University of Houston. Here's one particularly bright and shining example.
Among them was Samer Alhato, a Saint Xavier University anthropology student at the time of the conference, who announced on Facebook that he was picked to lead a “gender and sexuality” workshop, screenshots captured by Canary Mission show.
Alhato has repeatedly backed the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, tweeting on July 2014, “I support Hamas and I send then [sic] money every month.”
But surely that's just anti-Zionism, not anti-Semitism. An SJP figure couldn't possibly be anti-Semitic? Could he.
The previous year, Alhato called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “a dirty Jew.” In a separate tweet, he added, “@BarackObama shut up about gay marriage and go kill all the Jews.”
Perfect for a sexuality and gender workshop. But typical stuff at SJP. And would no doubt qualify him to head J Street U if he wanted to slum.
On July 16, 2012, Alhato tweeted: “I EAT LIKE A HOG AND MY NOSE IS BIGGER THAN A JEWS."
On December 9, 2013, Alhato tweeted: “[Benjamin] Natenyahu [sic.] is a dirty Jew and he won't go to Mandela's funeral bc Mandela supported Palestine, just saying."
On December 27, 2017, Alhato responded to the question on CuriousCat “do you think that isreal[sic.] will ever give the country back to the Palestinians?"Alhato answered: “No were [sic.] gonna have to pop a few bullets in them and get it back ourselves."
Just SJP business as usual.
