Every time you think we're reached the apex of childish media anti-Trump hit pieces, the media dives deeper into the darkness and comes up with a new one. Its latest is the claim that whoever runs President Trump's Twitter account blocked VoteVets on Twitter.
"The Commander in Chief can block VoteVets, the voice of 500k military veterans and families, but we will NOT be silenced," the left-wing group shrilly tweeted.
VoteVets claims 500,000 members. It's unclear who they are. The group is not a veterans organization. That's just a convenient and transparently misleading branding. Much of its advocacy is about environmental issues.
Aside from the time when it lobbied on behalf of Al Qaeda terrorists in Gitmo.
VoteVets claims to be the "largest progressive group of veterans in America." That's setting the bar low.
In practice, VoteVets is part of the same sewer as the rest of the left's organizations. Its front page doesn't boast a single cause involving veterans. Just Trump bashing and "Protect Renewable Fuels".
The OpenSecrets assessment of VoteVets (hardly a right wing site) is fairly blunt.
An organization begun six years ago by Iraq war veterans received nearly $4 million from environmental groups in 2010, a year during which it spent $3.2 million running ads that targeted congressional candidates and urged passage of a climate bill.
The Sierra Club gave $670,000 to the liberal VoteVets Action Fund, and the NRDC Action Fund donated $500,000. The largest total came from the Alliance for Climate Protection, the group founded by former Vice President Al Gore: $2.6 million, research by OpenSecrets Blog has found.
VoteVets is just a brand that's used for assorted lefty causes. Now it's going to fundraise off being blocked on Twitter for being obnoxious. Before getting back to shilling for Big Green business.
