I can't think of any place more perfect for playing out a scene from Team America than a Film Actors Guild show.
Ashton Kutcher, Model/Actor/Gigolo/Idiot, tried to find a way to revive his non-existent career that didn't involve dating Demi Moore by taking a courageous stand that everyone at the awards show he was at agrees with.
Actor Ashton Kutcher took a dig at President Trump's executive order that temporarily bans refugees and immigrants from several Muslim-majority countries at Sunday night's SAG Awards.
"Good evening, fellow SAG-AFTRA members and everyone at home. And everyone in airports that belong in my America," Kutcher said to loud applause. "You are a part of the fabric of who we are, and we love you and we welcome you."
Shut up, Kelso.
Aston Kutcher can house them in his mansion. So can the rest of his mutual admiration society. But Kelso has a compelling argument.
"My wife came to this country on a refugee visa in the middle of the Cold War! My blood is boiling right now!" Kutcher remarked on Twitter. "We have never been a nation built on fear. Compassion that is the root ethic of America. Our differences are fundamental 2R sustainability."
Everyone who saw Jupiter Ascending probably recognizes that was a mistake. Also his wife arrived at the literal end of the Cold War. Not that the guy who played Steve Jobs based on no other quality than a physical resemblance could be expected to understand that.
In the opening of the show, actress Kerry Washington said "no what, actors are activists."
"A lot of people are saying right now that actors should keep our mouths shut when it comes to politics. But the truth is, no matter what, actors are activists because we embody the humanity and worth of all people. This union helps me to do that. I am Kerry Washington, and I am an actor."
I am Kerry Washington and I get all my best speeches from Team America World Police.
I'm not sure which of them is dumber. We report. You decide.
