Muslims Denounce Corrupting Influence of Cartoon Pig

First they came for Piglet from Winnie the Pooh, and I said nothing, because I wasn't a pig.

The usually inseparable literary duo of Winnie the Pooh and Piglet may spend this Christmas apart in a number of children's stores, to respect the sensitivities of devout Muslim parents.

Mothercare outlets in West Yorkshire have reported a number of polite requests for Pooh products - which range from games to bathmats - to be sold without the bear's small friend to avoid problems over pigs' unclean status in Islam.

Now it's Peppa Pig's turn to face the anti-cartoon pig Jihad.

Sheik Shady Alsuleiman, the head of the Australian National Imams Council, has urged parents to embrace religious cartoons over the popular animated children’s series Peppa Pig.

The council has thrown its support behind One4Kids, a company that produces children’s shows with Islamic themes.

A campaign has been set up to fund Barakah Hills — a story about the Abdullah family, who live in a small town with a predominantly Muslim population.

Of course they do. Muslims are majoritarians. Not minorities.

And the creator is just like Walt Disney. If Walt Disney were a Muslim.

Sheik Alsuleiman, a Sydney preacher who has previously generated controversy for his homophobic views, urged parents to donate money to the production of the cartoons.

The Australian-born preacher also called for adulterers to be stoned to death, saying women would be “hung by their breasts in hell”.

Just the guy you want making a cartoon for your kids.

“The masjid (mosque) is the central hub of the town, with Imam Nouradeen as the community leader and role model,” One4Kids says on a fundraising website.

Episodes of the proposed show would include “Daddy gives his first Khutbah” and “Counting in Arabic”. Peppa Pig and brother George are replaced with Muslim children Omar and Laylah.

In a forum about Peppa Pig hosted on One4Kids’ Zaky & Friends social page, followers attacked the British program’s “moral values”.

Nacera Kefil Burekovic suggested a sheep be used for an Islamic version of the show,

Sounds about right.
