We know that Keith Ellison, the radical popular candidate for DNC chair backed by Schumer and Reid, was tied with the racist and anti-Semitic Nation of Islam cult which believes white people will be exterminated by UFOs. We know that he compared Bush to Hitler and Israel to an Apartheid State. We know he has defended anti-Semitism in the past.
We know he got into trouble with the IRS for not paying his taxes.
But here's a Keith Ellison scandal most people have forgotten about. It involved Community Action. CA was supposed to help poor people. Instead its top people helped themselves.
Leaders of a Minneapolis nonprofit that serves low-income residents used taxpayer money to pay for a celebrity cruise and trips to Palm Beach and the Bahamas, according to a recently completed state audit.
Along with the trips, the audit by the state Department of Human Services found that the nonprofit’s leaders spent public money on bonuses, golf, spa treatments, furniture, alcohol and even a personal car loan.
Ellison served as a board member on CA. He claimed that he knew nothing, but his proxy benefited from the theft.
Fay Harrison, the proxy for Ellison on the board. CAM improperly paid for $8,870 worth of work on her home. In a settlement, her son has offered to pay back $2,500, but so far has paid just $300.
Ellison’s spokesman, Brett Morrow, said that the congressman “has not been approached requesting that he pay Ms. Harrison’s bill, and does not intend to cover her obligations.”
Investigators found no evidence that Rep. Ellison or former Council Member Lilligren received any personal benefit from CAM, but it says they, along with Minneapolis City Council President Barbara Johnson and other former board members, could still be found liable for breach of fiduciary duty.
And of course he wasn't. Keith Ellison has gotten a free pass for his bigotry. He got a free pass on this too.
