The media is writing up the harassment of the Trump transition team by protesters calling themselves the Jewish Resistance. That's as dishonest as Goebbels calling himself the Jewish Resistance.
In fact the protests appear to be organized around #IfNotNow, an anti-Semitic hate group that has made a specialty of targeting Jewish charities and liberal Jewish organizations for their support of the Jewish State. A key IfNotNow figure, Simone Zimmerman, was at the center of a scandal when the Bernie Sanders campaign faced outrage from the Jewish community for her appointment. The Sanders campaigned quickly distanced itself from Simone Zimmerman, but by then it was too late. Bernie Sanders went on to lose New York to Hillary Clinton.
There are strong suspicions that IfNotNow is a front for JVP, a notorious anti-Semitic hate group, some of whose members have expressed support for terrorism against Jews.
There were signs early on that IfNotNow was attempting to gain entry into the Jewish community by switching its focus from harassing Jewish charities and organizations to attracting protesters to anti-Trump protests. That appears to be what we're seeing now. #IfNotNow is trying to disguise its core opposition to the Jewish State while attracting more mainstream liberals.
This strategy is ultimately doomed because IfNotNow can only go so far in disguising its extremism and hatred.
But its current protests are being promoted by anti-Israel writer Peter Beinart and other anti-Israel figures making it clear that the attacks on Trump are just a vehicle for the same old hatred of Jews.
IfNotNow may call its hate rallies #JewishResistance, but it's just the same old anti-Semitism in drag. Its latest protest target isn't really Trump, it's the Jewish community that doesn't share its hatred of the Jewish State.
