Suspending her without pay for endorsing terrorism and the murder of israeli Jewish children would no doubt have been going too far.
Nadia Shoufani, a Toronto teacher, was one of the speakers at the annual pro Iranian Islamic Al-Quds Day Rally in Toronto which was held on Saturday, July 2, 2016... A graduate of the American University of Beirut and a former employee at UNRWA, Shoufani is a teacher for Special Education, ESL, Literacy and Science at Dufferin-Peel District School Board. “Ms. Shoufani” ismentioned as a SERT/ESL teacher at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School in Mississauga. Nadia Shoufaniis also affiliated with the Palestine Solidarity Movement and Actions4Palestine and is a director at the Arab Canadian Cultural Association.
As cijnews.com reports, at the rally Shoufani praised the Muslim terrorist murderer of a 13-year-old Israeli girl and another Muslim terrorist killer of Israeli children.
December 22, 2015 – The “martyrdom” of Samir Kuntar is a “testament for heroism”, wrote Shoufani. She added: “Blessed be Samir for his martyrdom with dignity and pride.”
December 21, 2015 – “Samir Kuntar is one of the heroes of my land. He sacrificed himself for the struggle/ resistance and Palestine… Samir, O Fierce fighter… You have the glory and the pride of the martyrdom!”
CIJnews: Who was Samir Kuntar? At the age of 16, Samir Kuntar, then a member of the Palestine Liberation Front, infiltrated with three other fellow terrorists into Israel, participated in the killing of an Israeli policeman and attempted kidnapping of an Israeli family in Nahariya that resulted in the deaths of four Israelis. During this attack Kuntar murdered an Israeli civilian and smashed the head of his 4 year-old daughter on beach rocks and crushed her skull with the butt of his rifle.
Those are views more appropriate for a serial killer than a schoolteacher, though UNRWA staff tend to find ways to combine the two. Now there's some progress in her case.
The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board announced today that it has suspended with pay Nadia Shoufani, a teacher from St. Catherine of Siena Separate School who praised terrorists at the Toronto al-Quds Day hatefest in July.
It's a good thing that now she'll get paid not to work. It's still probably better than having a supporter of the murder of children be around children.
