Islamic terror is no longer an occasional problem. It's becoming a constant one. The arrests come one after another. And these are only the tip of the iceberg.
Here's the latest Muslim terror plot broken up by law enforcement.
Erick Jamal Hendricks, 35, is charged with providing material support to the terrorist organization. He made his his initial appearance Thursday morning in a federal court morning in Charlotte and is expected to be brought back to Cleveland to face federal prosecution.
Hendricks was in contact with Elton Simpson, one of two men who opened fire at "The First Annual Muhammad Art Exhibit and Contest" in Garland, Texas in May 2015, according to an unsealed criminal complaint.
Hendricks is charged in federal court here because he is accused of reaching out to a northeast Ohio man on social media in order to get him to recruit others. The Ohio man, who later provided information to the FBI, told agents that Hendricks tested his religious knowledge and commitment to the Islamic State, including asking whether he was willing to die as a martyr.
In April 2015, Hendricks told the undercover agent to download a document called "GPS for the Ghuraba in the U.S." The document said that "brothers and sisters" should not allow themselves to go to jail and that Muslims should die as a martyr, should "Boobie trap your homes" and to never leave home without an assault rifle.
Specifically,
Hendricks instructed UCE-1 to download the document “GPS for the Ghuraba in the U.S.”, which included a section entitled “Final Advice” which advocated that “brothers and sisters” should not allow themselves to go to jail. This section also allegedly encouraged Muslims to die as a “Shaheed” (martyr), to “Boobie trap your homes,” to “lay in wait for them” and to “never leave your home without your AK-47 or M16.” According to the complaint, Hendricks also directed UCE-1 to communicate online with other people and stated “It’s hard to sift through brothers;” “Allah chooses only the few;” and “Everyday I do this day in and day out.”
The FBI only chooses the few. Allah has quite a few killers still roaming America.
Hendricks' targets included members of the military whose names had appeared on an ISIS hit list.
