There's a pattern here. Behind all he class warfare rhetoric, working for leftists is a miserable experience. There are plenty of examples from prominent leftists like Ralph Nader and Michael Moore. And there is the current mayor of New York.
Mr. de Blasio, a Democrat who took office in 2014 as chief executive of the nation’s largest city with little prior management experience, has developed a reputation at City Hall as a sometimes difficult and impatient boss with a temper, according to interviews with current and former aides.
How petty and childish are we talking? This badly.
According to the interviews with current and former staff members, Mr. de Blasio can be condescending with his aides, often using the phrase “this is a teachable moment” before humiliating an aide in a staff meeting.
Mr. de Blasio, 55 years old, sometimes speaks slowly, like one would to a toddler, when he believes a staff member is unprepared or incorrect, these people said. He often tells staff members he has better political instincts than they do and he grows irritated when aides give lengthy briefings on an issue, they said.
Sounds like Obama.
Several current and former staff members said they were reluctant to buck him in meetings for fear of being embarrassed. “Anyone can incur his wrath,” a former city official said.
Some of the recent departures in Mr. de Blasio’s administration—including a deputy mayor, his press secretary and his chief counsel—can be partially attributed to the mayor’s treatment of them, people familiar with the matter said.
This should be even more fun once the indictments show up.
