Of all the various stunt casting gimmicks in Hillary's DNC coronation, celebrities getting out the vote, Republicans for Hillary,.. Khizr Khan's stunt casting was the only one that worked.
The gimmick was blatantly obvious. The Democrats were trying to be both treasonous and patriotic at the same time. They wanted to dismiss the threat of Islamic terrorism while wrapping themselves in the flag. How better to do it than with the parents of a Muslim soldier.
The stunt, like all the others should have been ignored. Once it wasn't, Khizr Khan and his wife gleefully latched onto all the attention and did interview after interview.
But the 15 minutes are almost up. And now they're whining about being private people who want to end the controversy. Private people tend to remain private. Countless American families have been robbed of their loved ones, on and off the battlefield, by Khan's co-religionists who follow the teachings of their religion, and they have remained private.
Nor were they given the kind of high profile forum that the Democrats and the media gave to the Khandashians. But there's no actual material there. The 15 minutes have come and go. And even the media is contemplating how to move on from their fake non-story.
