Hillary Clinton has a long sad history of evading charges by arguing that even when she did something criminal, no one can prove criminal intent. The latest FBI copout follows that same predictable narrative. Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State. She violated one of the more basic laws. But criminal intent can't be proven. Of course not.
Comey effectively laid out a criminal case against Hillary Clinton and then shrugged. He even suggested that she should have been punished by administrative review. But as a matter of fact, criminal intent of this kind isn't required. Abusing classified information, whatever the intent, is a crime. Even if it's merely gross negligence which is a slam dunk case in this case.
Hillary Clinton is certainly guilty of gross negligence. Along with a good deal else.
This was not an accident. It was not mere negligence. It was a cover up. It was an effort dedicated to dodging transparency by a politician with a long history of abusing power and major scandals.
The criminal intent of someone with a history of criminal behavior is not hard to prove.
