Tactics like these infuriate the left because they're effective. Various Big Green measures got rammed through to the profit of assorted major financial interests because big chunks of the public was convinced that imaginary Green Jobs were coming and that there would be no costs to them. Bernie Sanders lost any real hope of traction once people understood what his universal health care would cost every family in taxes.
And this follows the same principle.
We reported previously that Republican lawmakers at the state capitol were pushing a bill that would have required service stations to post how much money the state’s Cap and Trade program increases gas prices.
The information would be in addition to the excise sales tax figures that stations are already required to post. The bill passed an early committee test, but supporters say it was later quietly killed without a vote of the legislature. Yesterday, the California Independent Oil Marketers Association announced that it will voluntarily start disclosing the information at the pumps. The group represents a quarter of the 10,000 service stations in California.
Tell the truth and shame the socialist.
Cap and trade is a scam that benefits certain entrenched interests at the expense of the larger public. The same is true for 9 out of 10 environmental initiatives. They aren't saving the plan. They're putting a strain on people's pocketbooks so that consultants, Big Green banks and other scammers can cash in.
