It used to be that it was the left that kept forcing open the Overton Window further on further on all of its insane policies. Meanwhile Republicans would struggle to adapt to the new reality.
But Republicans can do it too. All they have to do is push and open the window. And the window is opening.
The latest Reuters poll shows an even split among Americans about a Muslim ban with 45% for each side. That's down from a disagreement range in the 50s.
White Americans support a ban 50 to 41. Support falls among other groups, mostly notably among African-Americans who continue to be deeply devoted to Obama, but support has risen after Orlando.
The window is opening.
