Louisiana Votes to Cut Law Enforcement Ties to CAIR Over Hamas Ties

This resolution is an outlier. And that's strange. Because CAIR's problematic terror issues are a matter of public record.

House lawmakers voted 63-18 today to discourage Louisiana’s law enforcement and government agencies from working with CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations), a Muslim Brotherhood-linked terrorist front group, as designated by the United Arab Emirates.

Resolution supporter Rep. Mike Johnson, R-Bossier, said the statement from the House wasn’t aimed against “people who believe in the Islamic faith,” but was a statement in opposition to terrorism. “All of us here are opposed to terrorism. That’s all this is about,” said Johnson, who is running for Congress.
Before it passed, Rep. Katrina Jackson, D-Monroe, added language to the resolution saying the resolution would “have no effect” until the U.S. Justice Department determines that the organization has supported terrorist activity.

This effectively cripples it, but it had no force of law instead. Here's the text though.

INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS: Requests law enforcement and governmental agencies to avoid and suspend contacts and outreach activities with the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR)

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

To urge and request law enforcement and governmental agencies in Louisiana to avoid and suspend all contacts and outreach activities with the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR).

WHEREAS, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has suspended all formal contacts with the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) due to evidence indicating a relationship between CAIR and Hamas, a designated foreign terrorist organization; and

WHEREAS, one of CAIR’s directors was sentenced to a year in federal prison for violating U.S. sanctions against Iraq; and

WHEREAS, a CAIR director in Virginia pled guilty to terrorism-related financial and conspiracy charges, which resulted in a federal prison sentence; and

Since CAIR is CAIR, there's a long list of these. And if nothing else, this serves as a reminder that CAIR is not the Muslim NAACP, it's a group heavily intertwined with the ideas we ought to be fighting.
