The only Israeli government that Obama's State Department cronies wouldn't be "concerned about" would be run by Hamas. But by all means, let's listen to the latest statement of concern.
The Obama administration gave Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s expanded coalition a chilly reception on Wednesday, with State Department spokesman Mark Toner saying the Israeli government’s new composition raised “legitimate questions”.
"We have also seen reports from Israel describing it as the most right-wing coalition in Israel's history and we also know that many of its ministers have said they oppose a two-state solution," said Toner. "This raises legitimate questions about the direction it may be headed in ... and what kind of policies it may adopt.”
The phrasing is already odd.
"We have also seen reports"? You would think that the State Department would have the expertise to provide a definitive answer to such a basic question. But the trick is that Obama Inc. defines right-wing subjectively. So any coalition that doesn't include the Muslim Brotherhood and the Communists can be deemed right-wing and even the most right-wing coalition ever.
When was the last time the State Department expressed concerns about Muslim governments headed by monarchs and other hereditary ruling families?
Or for that matter "President Abbas" of the PLO who refuses to stand for election, but always gets the backing of the White House?
Or for that matter, the Joint List in Israel, which includes Communists and the Muslim Brotherhood? Not a problem,
