Secretary of State Pompeo hailed the release of the new Religious Freedom report. The report mentions the persecution of the Jews by the favorite Islamic terrorist regime of the left.
Among the numerous offenses highlighted in the report’s section on Iran was the arrest of a group of Jews at the end of 2017, amid allegations of synagogue vandalism.
“In December media reported police arrested several Jews on unknown charges; the arrests were widely believed to be related to their religious affiliation,” the report stated. “The arrests followed reports of attacks on two synagogues in Shiraz over consecutive nights. In the first instance, attackers broke into the Kenisa’eh Hadash (New Synagogue) and the Hadash Synagogue and desecrated two Torah scrolls and more than 100 prayer books, destroyed furnishings, tefillin, and prayer shawls, and stole silver.”
Not surprising from a country where Jewish genocide and Holocaust denial are endorsed by the regime.
And Spencer Ackerman, who continues to embarrass the Daily Beast with his unhinged smears, follows that with a bizarre attack on Pompeo for meeting with an anti-Semitic regime. No, not the one that Obama officials met with and illegally financed.
Mike Pompeo to Huddle With Anti-Semite’s Envoy
Viktor Orban won reelection as Hungary’s prime minister last month through a blood-and-soil campaign that married anti-Semitism with Islamophobia. Donald Trump’s secretary of state is about to reverse years of U.S. policy and receive Orban’s chief diplomat at Foggy Bottom.
By "married anti-Semitism with Islamophobia", Ackerman means it critiqued Soros, a Nazi collaborator who has justified and defended anti-Semitism.
Soros grew up in a "Jewish, anti-Semitic home". He called his mother a “typical Jewish anti-Semite” who hated his first wife because she was “too Jewish”.
That same year, Soros blamed the Israeli government for a “resurgence of anti-Semitism in Europe”. He might have been more honest if he took responsibility considering his funding of groups that traffic in anti-Semitic smears. And his own anti-Semitic allegations that “attitudes toward the Jewish community are influenced by the pro-Israel lobby's success in suppressing divergent views."
Soros has defended Hamas and Hezbollah who have called for the extermination of the Jews. He championed the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt despite or because of its support for Hitler. Yusuf al-Qaradawi had claimed that Hitler had been sent by Allah to punish the Jews. “Allah willing,” the Brotherhood’s spiritual leader said, “the next time will be at the hands of the believers (Muslims)."
But leftists, who defend every leftist and Islamic anti-Semite, claim that opposing Soros is anti-Semitic. If so, then millions of Jews in Israel and around the world are anti-Sorotic.
“I’m fucking disgusted,” said a State Department official speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the press. The official considered Pompeo “cozying up to individuals like Orban” part of a broader pattern of the Trump administration ignoring human-rights abuses and democratic backsliding.
Same State Department that cozied up to Iran, Hamas, Cuba, FARC and, oh yes, Russia.
Neither Tillerson nor his Obama administration predecessor, John Kerry, met with him one-on-one.
That's okay. Kerry is busy meeting with Iran's Zarif who was caught chanting, "Death to America."
