Democrats Condemn Trump for Not Inviting Them to Embassy Opening They Oppose

In, "The Democrats don't have a foreign policy, they have a Trump policy", I recently wrote that the hatred of Trump has hollowed out the Dems so that they no longer think about a lot of issues, but just reflexively oppose whatever Trump is doing.

Here's an example of this schizoid "Whatever Trump does is wrong" politics in action.

The Jewish Democratic Council of America has a press release out condemning Trump for not inviting any Democrats to the Jerusalem embassy dedication.

"Not only does Trump invite an anti-Semitic pastor to the opening of the U.S. Embassy, but he makes it a partisan event by refusing to invite even one Democrat. Israel should never be a partisan tool. It needs friends on all sides. Shame on you, Mr. President"

If the Democrats had wanted to come, they could have easily come. A whole bunch of people went.  Not because Trump invited them, but because they support Israel.

Israel’s Channel 10 said that no Democrats were given invitations to attend the dedication, however, Cruz said that invitations were not necessary for the lawmakers to attend.

"None of us were invited," Cruz said, noting that his delegation came together when he asked fellow senators to join him in attending the opening of the embassy.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.) told reporters that he personally invited Democrats to come to the dedication with the delegation of Republican senators.

"I would just assume that the Republicans who didn’t come had [scheduling] conflicts. But I am disappointed that not one Democrat came," Graham said. "What does that say? It’s not for me to tell you what that says. It hurts me. Because I work across the aisle on a regular basis. I think it was a mistake, because there’s too much going on in this region."

Every member of Congress was in fact invited to attend.

But never mind, you would assume based on this outrage that the JDCA supported the embassy move? Of course not.

“We recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, and support moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem at the right time. Yesterday, however, was not such a time because of the Trump administration’s failure to acknowledge broader U.S. strategic objectives in the region, including preserving prospects for a two-state solution, security and peace... “We condemn the loss of life in recent days and urge calm and restraint, while supporting Israel’s right to self-defense against terrorism and threats to its borders."

We support moving the embassy to Jerusalem when the terrorists agree that it can be moved. Also we support Israel defending itself, but we urge it to show even more restraint when defending itself.

Also, we oppose moving the embassy, but we're outraged that we weren't invited.

It's easy to see why the Democrats have lost all credibility on Israel.
