Pelosi, a 30-year veteran of the House from California, said her role as the most senior female Democrat in Washington is even more vital following Hillary Clinton’s 2016 loss, which left the top jobs in Washington in control of men.
“It’s important that it not be five white guys at the table, no offense,” Pelosi said, referring to the top two leadership spots in the House and Senate and the presidency. “I have no intention of walking away from that table.”
It's vitally important that a failed political hack of the right gender not be replaced by someone effective of whatever gender.
It worked for Hillary Clinton. After she won the election and broke the glass ceiling, she went on to prove that identity politics trumps competence, appeal, human warmth, credibility and charisma.
And that's why Speaker Nancy Pelosi is right to follow in President Hillary Clinton's footsteps.
But if the Dems really want to pry Pelosi out, they'll need to run a black lesbian in a wheelchair. Because it's more important that it not be 5 white people at the table.
