We've certainly had a lot of these hijab hoaxes. And there's a pattern to them.
The women or girls claim that they had their hijab torn off by a man who called them a terrorist or told them to go back to their own country. And after a previous rash of college student hoaxes, the trend appears to be going younger and younger.
This latest Hijab hoax was carried out by a 13-year-old. The most recent one before that involved an 11-year-old girl.
If I had a suspicious mind, I would wonder whether the Brotherhood fronts have decided to use younger girls who won't face any serious criminal charges and who have more plausible deniability. When a child tells a lie, it's easy to dismiss it as immature behavior.
Except for that pattern. Here's the latest hoax.
A 13-year-old girl made up a story about a man pulling off her hijab and calling her a terrorist while she was walking in Woodbridge, according to Prince William County police.
Police said the girl told police that she was walking in the area of Jato Ct. and Riverview Ln Friday afternoon when she was approached by a black man. The girl alleged that the man cursed at the victim and then tried to put her arms behind her back. She then told police that he pulled out a small knife, placed it against her arms and called her a terrorist. Before fleeing, she accused the man of pulling off her hijab and covering her mouth so she could not scream for help.
This is the latest one in a long series of them.
A month later they stuck again. Yasmin Seweid, an 18-year-old Baruch College student in New York City, claimed that “three white racists” tried to tear off her hijab, shouted Trump’s name, along with, "Look it's a fucking terrorist", "go back to your country" and "take that rag off your head".
“The president-elect just promotes this stuff and is very anti-Muslim, very Islamophobic, and he’s just condoning it,” she whined. CAIR got into the game. A hate crimes investigation was launched.
And the NYPD found that she had made it all up. Yasmin now faces charges for her deception.
Note the same "terrorist" claim. But even when hoaxes are disproven, they get rolled into Islamophobia statistics. So that even the discredited hoaxes serve a larger purpose.
