Of all the people who shouldn't be writing an editorial headlined, "Trump and Bolton's Plan to Isolate Allies and Encourage Enemies", Wendy Sherman tops the list.
But here she is anyway with exactly that article in the New York Times.
There's no doubt that Wendy knows a lot about isolating allies and encouraging enemies. She led Iran negotiations under Hillary Clinton and North Korean negotiations under her husband. The end results of both were complete, unmitigated disasters that destabilized their respective regions.
The Iran negotiations in particular alienated Israel, the Saudis, the UAE and countless others even as it encouraged Iran to ramp up its expansionist ambitions leading to an intensification of the conflicts in Syria, Yemen, etc... Make no mistake about it, all that blood is on Obama's hands. And on the hands of cronies like Sherman.
The spin is predictably Orwellian. Strength is weakness. Weak is strength. Ben Rhodes has been shooting that particular drug into the media's veins for years. But the results on the ground tell a very different story.
Obama left the Middle East in much worse shape than he found it. He isolated allies and encouraged enemies. Now the left is, as usual, accusing everyone else of its own sins.
