Walkout Leads to Assaults, Flags Torn Down, Teacher Censorship

In what is a sign of things to come, the protests against the Bill of Rights in schools quickly turned ugly.

High school students in Tennessee reportedly jumped on a police car and tore down an American flag during what was supposed to be a peaceful protest for gun control.

Videos posted online by Meylin Zavala show students tearing down an American flag hanging from a flagpole. Police said some students jumped onto one of their patrol cars as well.

And uglier.

A student carrying a flag emblazoned with the word “Trump” was assaulted outside a high school in Minneapolis during Wednesday’s national school walkout, police said.

The unidentified flag-waving student was confronted by two classmates at Southwest High School as students gathered outside early Wednesday to protest gun violenceafter a shooting that left 17 people dead at a Florida high school last month, WCCO reports.

Six other students then joined the skirmish — which occurred across the street from the school — and took the flag from the victim. He suffered minor injuries and his camera was damaged, according to the station.

But teachers critical of the leftist hate quickly paid the price.

A Rocklin High School teacher is on paid administrative leave over her views about the national school walk out. The teacher says all she did was open up a debate about the politics of the protest in her classroom.

Mrs. Benzel teaches history at Rocklin High School.

She says it was only appropriate to talk to her class about the politics of organized protests, ahead of the school walkout.

But she says the school disagreed with her views and told her to stay home Wednesday morning.

This educational cultural revolution needs to end. That's why the Freedom Center's K-12 Code of Ethics is so important.
