#NotMeToo
What do you call the sound of one hand clapping? If no one watches an award show, does it still exist?
As the Academy Awards continue to celebrate unpopular virtue signaling flicks and pad their already overstuffed ceremonies with virtue signaling tirades, more Americans are just tuning them out. Outside New York and Los Angeles, the Oscars have become increasingly irrelevant. And the ratings continue to slide reflecting a national disinterest in the latest Hollywood antics.
Last night’s ceremony drew a 18.9 Live+Same Day rating in the metered market households. That was off 16% from last year’s 22.4 rating, which was a nine-year low. The 18.9 appears to be an all-time low for the Oscars, below the previous low ratings point, logged with the 2008 telecast (21.9), hosted by Jon Stewart, when No Country For Old Men won Best Picture.
It's almost like Americans have a very limited interest in watching a sneering lefty hack stumble awkwardly through his teleprompter lines before handing a statue to a movie they didn't watch.
