Why Does Trump Keep Making Cory Booker Cry

Poor crying' Cory. He's really giving Rep. Keith Ellison a run for his money when it comes to high profile political weeping.

An angry exchange with Homeland Security Secretary Kristjen Nielsen became one of the top tending stories on Twitter this week when Mr. Booker recounted “tears of rage” over comments attributed to Mr. Trump.

“When [Illinois senator] Dick Durbin called me, I had tears of rage when I heard about this experience in that meeting. And for you not to feel that hurt and that pain — and to dismiss some of the questions of my colleagues saying, ‘I already answered that line of questions’ — when tens-of-millions of Americans are hurting right now […] that’s unacceptable to me,” Mr. Booker said.

Maybe Cory should look into a therapist. Now that their 25th Amendment routine has been shot down, some of the anti-Trump shrinks will need a new gig. Maybe they could even throw in a freebie for a fellow progressive.

There are a lot of important topics to raise with the head of Homeland Security. There is that whole ongoing terror threat. But Senator Booker thinks it's more important to lay the groundwork for his presidential campaign by revisiting the same stupid topic CNN spent days beating into the ground.

How is the issue of President Trump's language even a matter for Homeland Security? What is Nielsen supposed to do about it?

There are no serious answers to these questions.

Booker wants to treat Trump's comment like the next Watergate. Instead of doing his job, he's busy hunting publicity. That's what he has always done. It's why he failed the residents of Newark. It's why he's failing New Jersey residents now.
