Rep. Keith Ellison was a longtime member of the violently racist hate group, the Nation of Islam.
The Minnesota Daily opinion editor, Michael Olenick, described Ellison’s writing as "a genuine threat to the long-term safety and well-being of the Jewish people, a threat that history dictates must not be ignored."
"Time and time again my people have been slaughtered after the words of Hakim (Ellison) and those like him influenced the masses," Olenick writes.
In a more recent comment, Olenick compared Ellison to David Duke.
Instead of backing away from Ellison, the Sandernista wing of the Dems helped elevate him to the Vice Chair of the DNC. And Ellison rewarded the DNC by posing with an Antifa text.

The deputy chair of the Democratic National Committee seemed to endorse Anarchist violence on Wednesday, when he tweeted a picture of himself grinning approvingly with a pro-Antifa book.
Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) posted a picture of himself holding “Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook,” writing that the book would “strike fear in the heart” of President Donald Trump.
The author of the book, Dartmouth professor Mark Bray, was also a spokesman for the Occupy Wall Street movement in 2011. He has come under fire from a New York City police union for expressing support for the virulently anti-cop group.
In an appearance on C-SPAN last year, Bray defended Antifa's violence against fellow Americans by calling it "preemptive self-defense."
The irony here is that Ellison's old leader, Louie Farrakhan, was an open supporter of Hitler. Now Ellison is pretending to be opposed to "fascism". But the consistent element in both Antifa and the Nation of Islam is their support for violence.
The DNC is refusing to address Rep. Ellison's support for a violent hate group. But it needs to be challenged over that issue as many times as it takes.
And, considering his history of anti-Semitism, Ellison should be asked whether he supports his pro-terrorist donor's views.
An official at the anti-Israel American Muslims for Palestine group who openly advocates for violence against the Jewish state contributed $2,500 to Democratic Party leader Rep. Keith Ellison (Minn.) last year, according to campaign disclosure documents.
The contribution from Taher Herzallah, AMP's associate director of outreach and grassroots organizing, came in March 2017 shortly after Ellison was named the Democratic National Committee's deputy chairman.
Herzallah has in recent years openly advocated for using violence to destroy Israel, saying in 2014 that "the State of Israel is a lie" and "Israelis have to be bombed."
This is Bernie Sander's DNC.
