The media loves its self-fulfilling prophecies. It predicted that recognizing Jerusalem would lead to Islamic terror. And so it's determined to twist the news to match the narrative.
The facts don't quite match, but it won't stop the media from trying. The media tried to blame the Muslim suicide bombing attack near Times Square on Trump's decision. Now here's another one.
Ex-Marine cites Trump's Jerusalem decision in planned ISIS attack on Christmas: FBI
A former U.S. Marine and expert marksman was charged Friday in a foiled ISIS-inspired attack planned for Christmas on San Francisco's Pier 39, according to federal court documents.
Everitt Aaron Jameson, a Muslim convert living in Modesto, Calif., cited President Trump's decision to name Jerusalem the capital of Israel as one of his reasons behind the plot on the famed pier, which the FBI says would have included explosives and guns.
One minor problem... Jameson first attracted the FBI's attention on September 7, well before Trump's announcement. In October, he messaged a man he thought was an ISIS figure and wrote, "I am here to beg to join the cause against Darul Kuffar (the non-Muslim world.)"
He was cheering Islamic terror attacks in October and November. And trying to join up with ISIS.
So clearly, it was all about Jerusalem.
Here's a fact the media appears to be far less interested in. "I took my shahada two years ago. At the Merced Islamic Center."
Two years ago, Faisal Mohammad, a UC Merced student, stabbed a number of people in the name of ISIS. A friend claimed he loved "going to the mosque to pray".
But it can't be about Islam. It's about Trump. And Jerusalem.
