I always associate Anthony Weiner, former Congressman, failed mayoral candidate, with sour milk. It's something about his expression, his pathetic neediness, his eagerness that is just repulsive and off-putting. And the Weiner documentary trailer offers what seems like an endless loop of uncomfortable Weiner awkwardness in his failed mayoral campaign.
The existence of the documentary itself testifies to Weiner's inability to distinguish between good attention and bad attention. It's also quite reminiscent of that Kerry documentary Inside the Bubble. The thing feels awkward and cringeworthy. It reminds everyone that the political instincts of the party's golden boy were actually quite terrible.
