Diversity is our strength. But sometimes that means a diversity of sexual harassment. That's what it meant at CBS where the guy who was supposed to be in charge of sketch comedy diversity was instead being diversely creepy.
CBS is parting ways with writer-producer Rick Najera, following an investigation into allegations that he made inappropriate comments to performers while serving as director of the network’s annual Diversity Sketch Comedy showcase, Variety has learned exclusively.
Najera has helmed the showcase for the past 13 years. CBS’ investigation focused on allegations that surfaced during the past few years.
He's also the author of "Almost White: Forced Confessions of a Latino in Hollywood". According to his site, it's "an award-winning memoir about life in Hollywood’s fast-paced entertainment industry, from a Latino perspective."
That's the diversity part.
And Rick has also "spoken at the most prestigious corporations in the world including Google, The World Bank, CNN, NPR, Al Jazeera, CBS".
Somehow I'm not surprised at the Al Jazeera part.
As of this writing, the team seems to consist of just him.Really hurt and angry but I know the truth catching my breath #teamricknajera#Almostwhite
