Rentals increasingly seem to be the of choice of Islamic terrorists, from the World Trade Center bombing (you know, the one Bill Clinton chose to ignore) to this latest attack in Canada. A number of Muslim vehicular attacks have employed rental vehicles for obvious reasons. And getting a U-Haul means you can easily put some muscle behind your car attack spree.
At some point, officials will make it more difficult to rent these vehicles. Instead of making it more difficult for Muslim terrorists to enter Canada. But that's the logic of our War on Terrorism. Don't impose a travel ban. But strip everyone down at the airport. Don't profile mosques, but listen to everyone's phone calls. Especially if they're Republicans. Or Trump officials.
But meanwhile we've got another one of those terror attacks we're just supposed to shrug off. 10-15 years ago, this was ordinary life in Israel. Now it's the West.
A police officer in Edmonton, Canada, was stabbed and four civilians were injured in two incidents officials are investigating as connected "acts of terrorism."
Police said a man driving a car with an ISIS flag on its dashboard rammed "at a high rate of speed" into a police barricade where an officer was directing traffic outside an Edmonton Eskimos Canadian Football League game at about 8:15 p.m. local time Saturday evening in Alberta province.
The suspect's car struck the officer, "sending him flying 15 feet through the air," police said.
The 30-year-old suspect then exited the vehicle, a white Chevrolet Malibu, and used a knife to stab the officer, police said...
Two hours later, police pulled over the driver of a U-Haul truck at a police checkpoint in the city and asked for the person's license. The officer noticed the name was similar to the owner of the Chevy Malibu, at which point the U-Haul driver fled the scene with police in pursuit.
According to police, the U-Haul driver headed toward downtown Edmonton and "attempted to deliberately hit pedestrians in the crosswalk." Police say "it is believed four pedestrians were struck by the truck and transported to hospital with multiple injuries."
During the chase, the U-Haul flipped on its side on Jasper Avenue, a main thoroughfare in downtown Edmonton, and authorities managed to apprehend the individual, police said.
Don't worry, folks. It's just another car ramming and stabbing incident involving someone who was probably mentally ill. And then an ISIS flag somehow got into his vehicle. Nothing to do with Islam.
Let's not even think about rethinking Islamic migration.
