Salon Desperately Seeks Anti-Trump Gimmick

It's hard to be more anti-Trump than the mainstream media. As Salon continues to fail, it's seeking a new gimmick.

This will be a short break, a one-day experiment: June 27 will be Trump-Free Tuesday here on Salon.

We’ve been thinking about this for a while, and it seems like the right moment. There are so many other things to talk about and think about, in politics, culture or our daily lives. We are stuck with this guy for the foreseeable future, which is a difficult truth for many of us to handle. If we cannot dislodge him from the White House anytime soon, maybe we can start to deflate the outsized role he plays in our national psychology.

Ignoring the President of the United States. That's a plan. It should work almost as well as the time that the Huffington Post tried it.

Sadly the experiment already seems to have failed... all these appear on the Salon front page, though some are older posts.

What's behind the latest gimmick? How about Salon's ongoing failure cycle

Net revenue fell 34% to $4.6 million for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2017
Net losses of $10.4 million included approximately $6.5 million in non-cash charges

The Company continued collective bargaining with the Writers Guild of America, East, Inc. ("WGAE") during the 2017 fiscal year.  As the Company has not yet reached an agreement with its union employees, it remains uncertain how it will impact the Company's financial status, or if it will have a negative impact on Salon's ability to obtain additional financing, if necessary.

Quick no one mention Salon.
