2014 was a pretty good year in Baltimore. There had been only 211 murders.
211 murders was a terrible crime statistic.But for Baltimore, it was pretty good. The murder rate had been falling. It hadn't topped 300 since the 90s. But then everything changed in 2015.
The wave of Black Lives Matter race riots backed by Obama Inc. came to Baltimore. The pretext was the lie that Freddie Gray, a drug dealer, had been killed by police racism. Even though some of the police officers who would be charged in the failed prosecutions were African American.
The Mayor gave the Black Lives Matter rioters "space to destroy". And destruction followed. The murder rate hit 344 that year. It was 318 in 2016. And this year is going to be a doozy.
The number of murders continues to sky rocket in Baltimore after six people are killed in less than 24 hours.
Baltimore is closing in on 160 homicides, not even halfway through the year.
Baltimore is likely to set a new record this year. Because pro-crime policies work. When the Ferguson Effect kicks in and the police don't do broken windows policing, criminals do what they like.
Black Lives Matter appears to have cost around 300 lives in Baltimore. Most of them black. Obama can add those to his total too. I wonder how many dead young black men it will take to atone for Freddie Gray?
