Leftist revolutions don't take long to break down into extremists feeding on everyone less fanatical than they are. Before being eaten by even more extreme figures. So now intersectionality advocates are attacking gay pride parades.
For social justice.
Thousands of revelers, some waving rainbow flags symbolizing gay rights, crowded Washington streets on Saturday for the city's gay pride parade in an annual party that saw anti-corporate protesters briefly block its route.
Protesters who oppose the Capital Pride parade's corporate backing, which includes bank Wells Fargo & Co (WFC.N) and weapons maker Northrop Grumman Corp (NOC.N), briefly blocked the parade route and forced it to be rerouted.
The protest group, No Justice No Pride, said in a statement that Capital Pride also needed to add a transgender minority woman to its board and bar police from marching in the parade.
The media, rather predictably, continues mainstreaming and normalizing the radical left. The corporate demands are actually the final plank of No Justice, No Pride. And they include an anti-Semitic BDS call that Reuters conveniently leaves out. But the anti-corporate stuff is the most comprehensible to liberals. The full list is uglier and crazier.
Plank 1 demands "a paid position for a trans woman of color with deep connections to DC's trans community". Plank 2 calls for banning the police. Plank 3 is, "Creating a paid managerial position within Capital Pride reserved for a native or indigenous leader (Preferably of the Piscataway nation.) Officially and publicly recognize that Capital Pride takes place on Piscataway land and make a formal commitment to work with indigenous and two spirit communities." Plank 4 is "Capital Pride will commit to restructuring, replacing and expanding its board of directors to represent and center the leadership of historically marginalized* communities."
I'll stop here.
The actual agenda is fairly typical. Use claims of oppression to seize control of targeted organizations with a coalition based on a series of identity politics alliances. The current intersectional raft covers treating the entire country as a colony built on stolen Indian land. And so most protests now include demands for treating any given space as belonging to some Indian tribe. Bans on police play to the BLM pro-crime racists. And there's anti-Semitism for Muslims and their leftist allies.
But of course it's only a matter of time until the eaters are eaten. That's been the history from France to Russia. The leftist can keep on devouring itself until a dictator imposes order by killing all the true believers.
