Comey Testimony Shoots Down CNN, ABC "Anonymous Sources" Fake News

You can always rely on "anonymous sources". Especially when they're presented by a biased media with a nakedly partisan agenda. Anonymous sources say, "Trust us".

Like ABC's Comey story based on anonymous sources.

Although Comey has told associates he will not accuse the president of obstructing justice, he will dispute the president’s contention that Comey told him three times he is not under investigation.

So much for that.

UPDATE: While Comey did stop short of characterizing Trump’s words as obstruction of justice during his testimony Thursday, he in fact testified that he did tell President Trump on three separate occasions that he was not “personally” the subject of a counter-intelligence investigation.

Corrections with lots of hedging are best. Because the media can't give up on its obsession with losing the election. Like CNN's Comey story based on anonymous sources.

CNN has corrected a Tuesday report after the release of former FBI Director James Comey's opening statement for his Thursday testimony in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee contradicted the report's sources.

The CNN report said Comey was expected to dispute President Trump's claims that Comey said he was not under investigation on multiple occasions.

The report, titled “Comey expected to refute Trump," was based on unnamed sources and said Comey's conversations with the president "were much more nuanced," and that Trump drew the wrong conclusion.

The story was complied by four CNN journalists, including Gloria Borger, Eric Lichtblau, Jake Tapper and Brian Rokus.

Borger reiterated the report's claims in an appearance on CNN on Tuesday.

“Comey is going to dispute the president on this point if he’s asked about it by senators, and we have to assume that he will be," said Borger, the network's chief political analyst. "He will say he never assured Donald Trump that he was not under investigation, that that would have been improper for him to do so.”

So much for that. CNN's story currently comes with the correction that their fake news preceded reality.

CORRECTION AND UPDATE: This article was published before Comey released his prepared opening statement. The article and headline have been corrected to reflect that Comey does not directly dispute that Trump was told multiple times he was not under investigation in his prepared testimony released after this story was published.

Life comes at your fake news fast. But you can still trust all those media hit pieces based on anonymous sources.
