UK PM Condemns "Islamist Extremism" Not Islam

My approach to politicians acknowledging the problem is very much glass half full. Getting any politician to talk about a problem they don't want to talk about is like pulling conceptual teeth.

So having UK PM Theresa May speak about Islamist terror while dismissing it as a "perversion of Islam" is still the glass half-full because it's incremental progress toward acknowledging the real problem.

Yes it would be nice if politicians in nations targeted by Islamic terror did not feel the need to take refuge in euphemisms like " radical Islamic terrorists" or "radical islamist extremism". But even getting politicians to connect Islam to terror is already a Great Leap Forward for spineless appeasers.

Her solutions quite prominently and obviously bypass immigration, she's willing to censor the internet and produce some sort of larger scheme for doing so rather than simply addressing the immigration question and that is the fundamental issue here.

As long as the narrative remains tethered to the classic tiny minority of extremists cliche then solution such as censoring the internet rather than controlling borders continue to be appealing. CVE in all it's forms, up to and including internet censorship, assumes the problem is messaging, and that is a postmodern fallacy in which any real problem can be solved with messaging.
