Kathy Griffin Blames Sexism for Trump Severed Head Backlash

It never fails.

A leftist personality does something horrifying, up to and including threatening someone's life, and then plays victim by whining about "death threats" real or imagined. Kathy Griffin held up a prop bloody severed head of President Trump is now whining about death threats. These death threats may or may not be real. We've seen a pattern of leftists from Gamergate onward retreat behind claims of fake death threats while playing the martyr. That's what Kathy Griffin is doing.

And the media is sympathizing. It's unfair that a leftist member of the "resistance" is being persecuted with death threats for a death threat.

"Kathy never imagined it could be misinterpreted as a threat of violence against Trump. That was never what she intended," Bloom said.

How could anyone interpret holding up Trump's bloody severed head as a threat of violence?

However, Griffin claimed that now, because of a mistake she made, Mr. Trump and his team have a sexist vendetta against her.

She mistakenly held up Trump's bloody severed head?

On Friday, Griffin said of the backlash, "This wouldn't be happening to a guy. This is a woman thing."

Sure. A male comedian would in no way be sanctioned for death threats against the president.

Kathy Griffin is fighting back against the abuse and "death threats" she has received in light of controversial images released earlier this week that showed the comedian holding up a bloody head resembling that of President Donald Trump.

"If you don't stand up, you get run over," Griffin said. "What's happening to me has never happened in this great country. A sitting president of the U.S. ... is personally trying to ruin my life forever."

Bloom said the comedian was contacted by the U.S. Secret Service and said she has retained a criminal lawyer.

If you threaten to kill the President of the United States, you are likely to get a visit from the Secret Service. Because that's their job. It's unlikely that any action will go past that interview. Nor will it ruin her life. Any more than she has ruined it on her own.

Trump said of the photos that Griffin "should be ashamed of herself."

Hard to argue with that one. And it also doesn't qualify as ruining her life.

On Wednesday, Griffin was fired from her gig on CNN's New Year's Eve program, which she had co-hosted alongside Anderson Cooper since 2007.

Griffin said her termination was "hurtful."

Griffin also lost an endorsement deal with Squatty Potty, a line of bathroom footstools, and has had at least five of her stand-up gigs canceled since the photos were released.

This is the sort of thing that happens when you hold up the president's severed head. A whole bunch of people no longer want to do business with you. It's not Trump's fault. But lefties can never take responsibility for their actions.

Of course this wouldn't be complete without a Hillaryesque effort to blame sexism.

Griffin and Bloom believe the comedian has received harsher backlash because she is female.

"This is a woman thing," Griffin said.

Obviously.

It's the woman part they had a problem with. Not the severed head part.
