We are in an unprecedented era in American politics. Part of that unprecedented era is Hillary's defeat tour. A victory tour makes sense. Instead Hillary is conducting a defeat tour in which she marches around "taking responsibility" for losing the election before blaming the FBI's Russian misogyny for her defeat.
Say what you will about John Kerry, but he didn't spent the next six months trying to claim that he would have won if Putin had just invaded the Ukraine a few years earlier. Or blaming anti-Mormonism.
The Hillary defeat tour, in which she looks ragged and unhappy, or alternately tacky and obnoxious, seems pointless. Obviously she's going to have a book to sell shortly. But beyond that. what's the point?
Clintonism is as dead as Communism. Blaming the FBI or the Martians won't bring it back. If Hillary harbors delusions of a 2020 comeback, she's more out of her mind than Joe Biden. It isn't going to happen. To claw her way to the nomination a second time would require getting past a DNC controlled by Obama's people. And they aren't about to hand it over to her.
The Clintonworld organization is in shambles. Chelsea's political future should be confined to fundraisers and Twitter.
So what's the point, beyond ego? There may not be one. The Clintons have never really admitted fault. And this is their way of continuing to deny that they ever did anything wrong. Even when there isn't any point to it anymore.
It's a sad and pathetic end to their despicable legacy.
