DNC: No Room for Pro-Life Dems in Democrat Party

Tom Perez, Obama's man in control of the DNC, makes it official

Democratic National Committee chairman Tom Perez became the first head of the party to demand ideological purity on abortion rights, promising Friday to support only Democratic candidates who back a woman’s right to choose.

“Every Democrat, like every American, should support a woman’s right to make her own choices about her body and her health,” Perez said in a statement. “That is not negotiable and should not change city by city or state by state.”

That differs from Bernie's position, but probably differs much less from that of his base. It's over. And now that there's a pro-abortion purity test, how long until there are gun control and coal regulation purity tests to wipe out the last of the Dem base that isn't based out of major cities?

But Perez is just making the obvious official. And it's better for everyone. Ever since Bart Stupak, the writing on the wall was clear. There's no room for Dems who differ in any way from the hard left positions of the party's new masters as enforced by a handful of powerful groups, in this case NARAL and the rest of the lobby, even if it allows them to hold office.

The Obama "right side of history" theory is that Dems must be forced to embrace radical leftist positions on the theory that white voters in the rest of the country will die off and be replaced by Syrian refugees and brainwashed college students. The theory has something going for it, especially if migration and education aren't seriously tackled, but it's a much longer way from actually being here. Instead the Dems lost much of the country and now lay a claim to power based on the "popular vote" of powerful urban megacities.

So Dems will abandon much of the country while occasionally throwing everything into quixotic quests like Ossoff to validate their 50 state strategy of alienating most of the country while using Hollywood cash to try and buy special elections with candidates who don't even live in the district.

It's not a great plan. But it is ever so pure.

The interesting thing is that Republicans now have less "purity" than ever while Democrats are doubling down on "purity". The results of that experiment won't be definitive, but they may be interesting. The left is betting that Obama's machine can continue to override public objections to specific policies and rapidly normalize the formerly unthinkable. The machine has worked quite well on some social issues. But others may prove far more intractable. And the people running the machine are badly out of touch with the territorial nation while being very in touch with its cultural centers.

The DNC now solidly represents the latter.
