Bernie Sanders Thinks Being President is Just Like a TV Show

Hilariously unqualified presidential candidate Bernie Sanders went on The View to trade quips with its hilariously unqualified television personalities. At which point this happened...

Sanders told Raven-Symone that Martin Sheen’s work on “The West Wing” was his favorite fictional portrayal of a President ... He likes it because he “thought that was actually fairly reflective of what does go on in the White House.”

Every word in those sentences is a reminder that we're living in some sort of nightmarish failed society. We've got a senile Socialist running for president and talking to Raven-Symone about how he thinks a TV show about the White House reflects reality.

So I'm assuming that Bernie Sanders' plan for the White House is to spend all day walking up and down its corridors while randomly tossing out topical references.

But Bernie may not even have the West Wing endorsement locked up.

Former West Wing actor Bradley Whitford appeared on MSNBC, Tuesday, to assure Americans that fictional ex-President Jed Bartlet is supporting Hillary Clinton. Quizzed by Steve Kornacki, the TV star endorsed by proxy: “There's no doubt in my mind that Hillary would be President Bartlett's choice. She's —  nobody is more prepared to take that position on day one.”

He added, “So there's no doubt in my mind, I know this may be controversial. But yes, on behalf of Jed Bartlett, I want to endorse Hillary Clinton.”

I want to get into a time machine and go back to the 50s. Or the 2050s. I'm not picky at this point.

How long until we go full meta and actors begin endorsing politicians in character without anybody even knowing the difference? I give it 5-10 years. Also Martin Sheen is a 9/11 Truther who hates Israel so he would probably actually support Bernie Sanders. Or maybe he'll just run for president in character because he's really good at playing presidents and that's good enough now.
