Not that there was really much ambiguity. But Dems are getting into line behind Schumer's plan to kill the filibuster and let President Trump appoint anyone he wants to the Supreme Court. Why?
Ask George Soros or Barack Obama. Or whoever controls the Dems these days. The odds are good that it isn't Schumer making policy. He just made a deal with the devil. One that required him to back Keith X. Ellison. Which suggests to me that he shook hands with the hard left. Harder even than Obama Inc.
But meanwhile filibustering Gorsuch is a foolproof plan for getting even the less reliable Republicans in the Senate on board. Since Schumer has given them three options...
1. The nuclear option
2. Turning over the Supreme Court to the left
3. Leaving a seat vacant
McCaskill has gone straight from telling Dem donors that a filibuster is a terrible idea to committing to one. The local GOP clearly knew it was coming because they preemptively leaked the donor tape in which she made one last plea for sanity. Barring sudden reversals, we're on the path to the nuclear option. And Democrats will have forced Republicans to do the right thing.
