Oh you didn't think those award show speeches amounted to nothing? Beware, President Trump. Hollywood is about to unleash a presidential candidate with all the charisma of a wet tortoise trying to pick your pocket.

Get ready for the sensational candidacy of Disney CEO Bob Iger.

Disney CEO Bob Iger already runs the world's most successful media company. But could his impeccable mogul credentials carry him to the Oval Office?

Sources say Iger has told friends he is considering their nudges that he make a run for president in 2020 as a Democrat.

Iger told THR in June that "a lot of people — a lot — have urged me to seek political office" but denied he would consider a run for California governor or senator, positions that historically have served as stepping stones to the White House. However, Iger didn’t specifically address the prospect of a White House run at the time.

Sources add that he has since consulted with former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg about making the leap from the board room to high office

The obvious question is, Huh.

Disney is an unquestionably hugely profitable and nasty monster. Its appendage franchises, Star Wars and Marvel, are minting money while pushing left-wing social justice messages. But this is a world away from Bob Iger being a successful candidate. Trump had a huge public profile long before this. And he had been exploring a presidential run since '99.

Bob Iger knows a lot of famous people.

Iger has plenty of friends in high places within the Democratic party. Former Vice President Al Gore told THRin January that he counts fellow Apple board member Iger among his closest Hollywood friends. A number of politically plugged-in industryites say they would welcome an Iger-led Democratic ticket.

Them and who else?

You know who knows a lot of people in the Democrat party? Virtually every Democrat senator. All of whom are more qualified than Iger. If you're going to bring a candidate from Hollywood, he probably should have more time in front of a camera than behind a desk. But this entire conversation is a sign of how troubled the Dems have become.
