For eight long years, the media didn't give a damn what the parents of deceased soldiers or other personnel had to say. Whether it was the parents of the Benghazi fatalities or Steal Team 6 Extortion 17, there was a blank wall of silence around them. About the only media outlets who would air their stories were conservative ones. They certainly didn't become headline news.
But that was also true of American soldiers who died in Iraq and Afghanistan, which were no longer supposed to be wars, on in Syria, where we weren't even supposed to have people on the ground.
Obama illegally invaded an entire country based on lies, overthrew its government and allowed the Muslim Brotherhood, Al Qaeda and ISIS to take over large parts of it. And the media couldn't be bothered to discuss what had happened in Libya.
But the moment Trump came into office, the game changed. Suddenly every single casualty and the details of every single military operation had to be investigated.
Suddenly the parents of dead soldiers mattered, if they were willing to criticize Trump. (You can guess exactly how many nanoseconds of airtime they would receive if they didn't.)
This isn't Fake News in the most direct sense. But it is shameless bias. It's a bias so shameless that it makes the reporting worthless.
The media has currently devoted more time to discussing the failure of one single operation than it did discussing the failure of the entire Libyan War.
What a difference a president makes.
