Senate Dems Sabotage Nominations by Boycotting Hearings

Democrats are no longer pretending that their contribution to the government is anything more than obstructionism. It's notable that this is happening at the Senate level where behavior standards tend to be higher. This isn't another CBC or Prog Caucus tantrum. Two groups that have less sense of responsibility and consequences than a turkey. This is how Dem senators have decided to act.

The Senate Finance Committee postponed votes on the nominations of Steven Mnuchin to lead the Treasury and Tom Price to run Health and Human Services after a boycott by Democrats denied the panel a quorum.

Senate Democrats staged a protest Tuesday outside the hearing room, complaining that the two men nominated by President Donald Trump hadn’t provided complete information to the committee.

Without a quorum, the committee can’t vote on whether to recommend the full Senate take up their nominations. Republicans were furious at the Democrats’ move and threatened to change the committee’s rules.

“This is the most pathetic thing I’ve seen in my whole time in the U.S. Senate,” Senate Finance Chairman Orrin Hatch of Utah said during the meeting.

Yes it is.

Remember when Dems were whining about obstructionism? Now it's all they have to offer. That panders nicely to some of their big donors, but does nothing for their party. The general public doesn't identify with pure political sabotage. Yet this shows how thoroughly the Dems are in the grip of the radical left. They're betting that with media backing, the public, or at least their voters, will back them.

They may be making a bad bet.

President Trump is still in his honeymoon phase and voters don't tend to look kindly at politicians who do nothing except sabotage a new president.
