One word. Good.
Lefty AGs have gotten away with this for too long at the state level. And at the Federal level for that matter. This wasn't just judicial activism. It was now bureaucratic activism.
President Trump sent a clear message that he wouldn't put up with it. Democrats had stalled Trump nominees to be able to leave their people in place. Sally Yates was one of those people. Now Sally Yates is gone. Her refusal to enforce the law because she didn't like it, because it offended her ideological sensibilities, earned her the boot.
"For as long as I am the Acting Attorney General, the Department of Justice will not present arguments in defense of the Executive Order, unless and until I become convinced that it is appropriate to do so," Sally declared.
Instead of trying to convince Sally to follow the law and the will of the people, she got a pink slip.
"The acting Attorney General, Sally Yates, has betrayed the Department of Justice by refusing to enforce a legal order designed to protect the citizens of the United States. This order was approved as to form and legality by the Department of Justice Office of Legal Counsel. Ms. Yates is an Obama Administration appointee who is weak on borders and very weak on illegal immigration."
And this should be the beginning of a major spring cleaning. Anyone appointed by Holder should be considered deeply suspect.
Firing Yates is a shot across the bow of the leftist Deep State that controls much of our government. It's a warning that President Trump won't tolerate a secret leftist shadow government trying to operate in defiance of democracy and the rule of law.
